Daniells told his mother he was going to Vietnam "because I have a job to do." The 20-year-old Marine private first class had attended Thomas Edison High School, where he ran track, and had worked as a stock boy in a cigar factory before enlisting in December 1964. The rifleman, assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 26th Marines, 3rd Marine Division, was killed in Con Thien, Quang Tri Province, on Sept. 10, 1967. He was engaged to be married. Survivors included his mother.
