Originally from Fox Chase, Hector waited tables at the same restaurant in Blue Bell where his father tended bar. The oldest of seven children, Hector graduated from Abington High School in 1967 and earned a diploma in printing from Eastern Montgomery County Tech in 1968. He worked as a pressman for seven months before being drafted into the Army in June 1969. The private first class, a light weapons infantryman, went to Vietnam in November 1969 and was assigned to Corn-puny E of the 1st Battalion, 12th Cavalry, 1st Cavalry Division (Airmobile). Hector. 20, died in. Bieri Hon Province on Jan. 18, 1970. He was survived by his parents, four brothers and two sisters.
