Richard B. Sedgwick

The 19-year-old Army private first class wrote home often about spending leisure time with Vietnamese children to whom he taught English. He found Vietnam to be a beautiful country. Sedgwick was assigned to Company C of the 2 nd Battalion, 60th Infantry, and 9th Infantry Division. He drowned while crossing a river in the Mekong Delta on April 28, 1967. The 1965 Roxborough High School graduate was survived by his parents and a brother.
