The 1963 graduate of South Philadelphia High School was keenly interested in art, and won several awards for his paintings and drawings. He painted several store windows in South Philadelphia and had his work displayed in the old Gimbels store in Center City. Stuhl was drafted in October 1965 and became a medical corpsman in the Army. He left for Vietnam in March 1966 and was as-signed to Headquarters and Headquarters Company of the 2nd Battalion, 16th Infantry, 1st Infantry Division. Stuhl died on Nov. 22, 1966. The 21-year-old private first class was survived by his parents, a brother and sister.
