The 23-year-old Marine lance corporal worked in the laundry department at Holy Redeemer Hospital before enlisting in September 1964. He was sent to Vietnam in May 1966 and assigned to Company C of the 1st Battalion, 1st Marines, 1st Marine Division. The machine gun team leader died on Jan. 14, 1967.
