Fergus J. Carroll

Nothing bothered "Fergy" Carroll and he could see humor in almost any situation, his teachers at Father Judge High School remembered. Although he planned to attend college, he enlisted in the Marine Corps before graduating in June 1966, deferring his entry until after the summer. The 19-year-old corporal, a rifleman and grenade launcher operators was assigned to Company K of the 3rd Battalion, 4th Marines, 3rd Marine Division, in Vietnam. Carroll died on June 18, 1968. He was survived by his parents, two brothers and a sister.
