Morgan attended Overbrook High School, enlisting in the Marine Corps on his 17th birth-day. The corporal, an antitank assault man, was sent to Vietnam and assigned to Company B of the 1st Battalion, 7th Marines, 1st Marine Division. He died in Quang Ngai Province, Vietnam, on March 18, 1967. He was 18 years old. Morgan was survived by his mother and eight brothers and sisters.
