The 20-year-old Army corporal was a 1967 graduate of Frankford High School, where he played baseball and basketball. �Jim" Morrissey worked as a lab assistant for Smith, Kline & French Laboratories before being drafted in April 1968. Morrissey had been married four months when be was assigned to Vietnam in December 1968. The assistant machine gunner was assigned to Company B of the 1st Battalion, 50th infantry, 173rd Airborne Brigade. He died on Dec. 29, 1968. In addition to his wife, he was survived by his parents and a sister.
