Memorial Day Ceremony Features Retired Army LTC
The annual Memorial Day observance on May 29 at noon at the Philadelphia Vietnam Veterans Memorial, Columbus Blvd. and Spruce Street, will be one of recognition and remembrance as we honor all those lost in Vietnam, as well as all wars.
Remembrance of the 648 servicemen from Philadelphia lost in the war and recognition of the toll the conflict still takes on the survivors. The Memorial Board will unveil a plaque in memory of those “who served in the Vietnam War and later died as a result of their service.”
The plaque is similar to one installed at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington D.C.
Speaker for the ceremony is Eric Stetson, who is the Director of Engagement and enrollment for FourBlock a VSO working to help Veterans and their spouses in their career transition from the military. He is a retired US Army Lieutenant Colonel.
