Joseph Q. Conway

Conway was a popular student at Germantown High School, where he ran track and played basketball. He worked as a clothing salesman at Krass Brothers before entering the Army in January 1966. The 22-year-old private first class, a rifleman, arrived in Vietnam in July 1966 and was assigned to Company M of the 3rd Battalion, 9th Marines, 3rd Marine Division. Conway died six weeks later, on Sept. 2, 1966. in Hol An, near Da Nang, Quang Nam Province. He was survived by his mother, six brothers and two sisters
