Through the efforts of PVVM Society member Tom Roberts and the Michael J. Cresenz Rising Sun VFW Post 2819 at 6850 Martins Mill Road, a “Night at the Races” will be held Friday July 27 from 7-11 p.m. at the Post. Proceeds benefit the POW-MIA Monument Campaign. Please consider purchasing and naming a horse or horses for $10 each and a donation of $25 to enter the event, which includes food and beverages. Actual horse races from the past are used to select winners. In addition, there will be a poker table, raffles and other activities. Mail a check made out to PVVMF for the number of horses (include the name of your horse if you want) and $25 for a ticket to Philadelphia Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund at PO Box 29425, Philadelphia, PA 19125. Your ticket will be held at the door, along with the horse(s) you wish to purchase. You also can purchase a ticket and horses at the door, contact Tom at 215-744-7179.
